Bible Conference

Back in January we had our annual Bible Conference at our church.  I couldn't post about it sooner because I have been sick.  But, I am up and running again, so I am happy to post about the most wonderful week of the year!!!  We heard great preaching, met new friends, got to see old friends, and overall just had a wonderul week.  Here is a picture of one of my favorite preachers: Bro. Joel Logan

It is such a blessing to have him at our Bible Conference every year. Sorry, it is a blurry picture for some reason.

Here is a picture of all of the preachers.  They all preached excellent messages as always!! They were from Joshua chapters 1-5 on the subject of Preparing for Victory.

Sorry for all of the extra heads in the picture! :)  It was hard to get the picture from where I was sitting.

Another wondeful thing about Bible Conference is most of the time our friends from out of town get to come down!!  This year was no exception.  Here are some pictures of me with my friends.

This girl is from Virginia.  I have known her for a couple of years now.  I was so glad she was able to come down this year because the last 2 years she has not been able to.  Unfortunatly I didn't get a picture of her sister and I who are also very good friends.  Hopefully next time I will!

This girl I actually just met this year.  She was a lot of fun to be around, and I look forward to seeing her again when I go to camp in July and possibly in March too for our annual youth rally!

This picture is a bit smaller than the other ones because I had to get it from our church website. It is a picture of another friend of mine.  Her name is Abby.  She is very sweet!

This sweet girl I have know since she was just a little girl.  I have loved her ever since I met her.  She is a fun little girl.  I always look forward to seeing her!  Miss you, Stephanie!! :)

Lastly I would like to share a picture of my friends and their family singing a song.  On the right is the girl I had my picture taken with.  The girl on the very left is the one I didn't get a picture of.  They sang  " What a Day That Will Be" one day during the Bible Conference.

I am already looking forward to next year's Bible Conference!

I'll be posting again soon on some things I've been making! :)

More Owl Hats!

I made another owl hat recently for a little girl.  Her aunt emailed me and asked if I would make her one.  The little girl's mom doesn't want her to be girly, so her aunt chose these colors.  I wasn't sure if I liked the green and the robin's egg blue together, but the purple definitely added some spice to it!  I really like how it turned out!

And then I wanted to share a picture of me and another little girl I made an owl hat for!

Here is another one of just her.  Cute right?!?!

That's all for today.  We are going to be very busy next week with one of the highlights of our year: our annual Bible Conference at church, so I won't be posting for a few days! :)

Fun Friday

Today I wanted to share something that my Aunt, Uncle, and their family gave me!  This necklace goes perfectly with the theme and title of my blog!  Such a thoughtful gift.  Isn't it pretty?!?!

I have really enjoyed having this!  Thank you so much Babetz family!

It is a rainy and cold day here in Florida.  Blah.  I love the cold, just not the rain. :(

I am in the middle of reading one of the best books I've ever read.  It is called Ester Ried.  For now I just wanted to post a picture of it, and ask you what some of your favortie books are.  You can leave a comment below and tell me!  I will post more about this book once I finish it!

Come back tomorrow and I will be posting a Fun Friday! :)

If you live in Florida I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather, now that January is half over.

Catching Up

I know it has been a very long time since I have updated my blog.  We have been very busy over the last two months.  So, here is a little of what we've been doing!

Over Thanksgiving break we went to St. Augustine with my grandparents and my dad's aunt.  We had a lot of fun.  One fun thing we did was we went to the old Spanish fort.  Below is a picture of the inside of it.

Here is a picture of my brother, my dad's aunt, and me.

My dad's aunt took a family picture of us.  I really like this one.

I've also been busy with my crocheting.  I made owl hats...one is pictured below.

Then we had a baby shower at our church for a lady who is expecting.  I made her a basket of balls.  2 of every color so that the baby can sort them by colors and he/she can also use them to count.  Below is a picture of them ( definitely not the best picture ever, but I guess it will do!)

Then my grandma had a baby shower at her church, so I made her a little bonnet.  I absolutely LOVED making this bonnet and will most definitely be making it again.  I got the pattern here.  I added the scalloped edge to make it a little more frilly.

I really like the back of it.  I think it is very sweet as is the whole bonnet!  :)

Another thing we did was we went to South Caroline for 8 days.  It was great to see all the family.  My grandparent live there and also my uncle, aunt, and 5 cousins!  Here is a picture of half of the group!  We went to Don Pablo's one night for dinner when the older boys, my dad, and my grandpa went to a hockey game!

I've also made some flower hair clips.  They are so cute and easy to make.

A really great friend of ours had a birthday in December.  So, my Mom and I made her a cross stitched wall hanging with the name of her Etsy shop embroidered on it.  I made a little owl to hang from the bottom of it.  This lady loves owls!

Here are the pictures.

My Mom made this part of it and I made the owl.

I have also been reading my Bible every day.  The Bible truly is the best book you can ever read.  I am reading my Bible this year with a schedule.

I have also been learning verses on the catgory of "All Have Sinned".  Such great verses!

Well, there is a little catch up for you all!  I will definitely be posting more often now!

"Give Thanks"

This is my latest cross stitch pattern!  I absolutely love this one.

I gave it to my Mom's cousin.  She lives in Kansas, but her family and her parents were down here recently, and we got to see them!  Here is a picture of her and me.

Here is another picture of my Mom's cousin's girls, MaryJane, Maddy, and me.

We had the best time ever.  Here is a picture of all of us.  It was so nice to be able to see everyone again!

We had dinner with them and then went to their hotel.  Here is a picture of my Mom, her cousin, and her aunt.

It was so good to see everyone again, and we hope to be able to do it again in the near future.

We are going out of town for Thanksgiving, so I will not be posting for a while.

Fun Friday

One of the down sides of cross stitch, crochet, or sewing are those little bits of thread and yarn you snip off.  They can be a real mess of piles here and there.  Here is a pretty little answer to this problem.

I got this little vase at Michael's craft store for $.99.  Instead of having your piles of snipped off thread or yarn scraps lying on the table, couch, or nightstand, just put them in this little vase.

Here is another picture just to give you a idea of the size of it.

It is small and very nice to have!

You can also spice it up with a little ribbon, or here in this picture I have just simply crocheted a little chain in my favorite color yarn!

So, this little vase is a pretty solution to messy piles of your scrap yarn or threads... and for only $.99.  Can't beat that!

Have a great weekend.
